SEMIAH

"This isn't really like any other sound out there right now"

- Raised by Cassettes, USA

Singer - Songwriter - Producer

Dancer - Choreographer - Video Director

Wardrobe Designer - Handcrafted Merch Maker

Named “Artist to Watch” by SheBOPS Zine (USA), Semiah enters 2026 on the heels of a breakout year. Her Sophomore EP LVR GRL (2025) was picked up by AWAL; she won a DORA Award for Outstanding Composer; was a hit at Sweden’s VIVA Sounds Festival; supported Aysanabee and Jully Black; and premiered self directed music video at Finland’s Skábmagovat Festival.

Hailing from Six Nations and based in Toronto, Semiah has called the stage home since age 5, performing internationally in dance theatre troupes. As a solo music artist she's performed for audiences in B.C., Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, USA and Sweden. Whether an intimate club or an outdoor festival, Semiah is a playful dervish disrupting expectations and weaving worlds that elicit swoons and encores. Alongside her music, Semiah is an innovative visual artist, creating original wardrobe, music videos, and handcrafted merch - all of which bring her song themes to life.

Semiah’s sonic signature bridges the two worlds she naturally inhabits: her electrified, synth-laced hyperpop channels her urban party-gurl spirit, while her twang-tinged acoustic ballads reveal her tender interior shaped by an early exposure to country music classics. These worlds are bound together by Semiah's unmistakable alpine vocal tone that glitters with subtle Haudenosaunee influences while delivering confessional lyrics about love, fear, recklessness and resilience.

EPs + Singles Playlisted on CBC Radio, SiriusXM, The Journey FM; spotlighted on Indigenous TV. Debut single “Nothing Can Kill My Love For You” surpassed 100,000 streams.

New LVR GRL EP (2025) features anthem “Clementine” inspired by Kate Winslet's character in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Semiah directed the music video that brings an Indigenous twist to scenes from the cult classic.

“I watched this movie endlessly while working through my own impulsivity in a breakup. Clementine taught me a lot about myself, so I made it into art  - Semiah

LVR GRL EP also features "Nothing At All" a hooky brit pop influenced track reminiscent of The Smiths, with an accompanying video that was shot in iconic Toronto club. Rounding off the three episode saga, the EP finale "DED 2 ME" is an epic acoustic ballad mixed by Juno-winning engineer Gus van Go (The Beaches, Metric).

Semiah directs, produces and choreographs her videos, including 2024's 'Withdrawals' single that features a Katana sword fight and powerpuff characters pouncing in the snowy Alberta mountains like an Indigenous Charlie's Angels. Song co-produced with Montreal’s Teleh0rn.

Tracks from Semiah's debut EP 'After The Night Ends' continue to be featured on CBC radio programs Here & Now, AfterDark and Drive with Rich Terfry.

>>> LIVE PERFORMANCE REVIEWS <<<

Semiah is a fascinating stage performer whose music transcends genres thanks to the full-on pop of “White Lightning” (think Charli xcx), the melancholic “I Cry The Same” (The Smiths) and the Six Nations inspired “Broken Heart”, which sees Semiah use a traditional indigenous hand drum as its main instrument. With a new EP LVR GRL, we’re predicting big things ahead for Semiah.

- Christopher Lloyd, Louder Than War Magazine, UK, December 2025 (VIVA SOUNDS Showcase, Sweden)
